Fery demonstrated his resilience and skill, holding his own against the 20th-seed opponent, Flavio Cobolli, in the first round. Fery, reflecting on the intense encounter, admitted that winning the first set would have been a turning point. He stated, 'The first set was long and intense. It would have been beneficial to win that one for the rest of the match.' Despite the loss, Fery's performance in the tournament has been a significant achievement, marking several career milestones.
His journey began with qualifying for the tournament for the first time, winning three matches in straight sets to secure a spot in the main draw at a foreign Grand Slam. When I'm fresh and playing my best, I can compete with the top 100 and top 50 players.'
